There are 2 parts of FRM Exam, FRM Part 1 and FRM Part 2 Exam. You need to pass both of them one by one.
FRM Part 1: This builds strong foundation for financial risk management course and equips you with risk management tools.
It is conducted twice an year in May and November.
FRM Part 2: Here, you learn actual applications of tools you learnt in part I. Majorly in 4 domains such as credit risk, market risk, Liquidity and operational risk. Year 2020 onward liquidity risk added, these are highly required in banking jobs. This is also twice an year in May/November.

The FRM Exam consists of two parts, Part I and Part II, which are both offered twice a year on the third Saturday of May and the third Saturday of November.
FRM Part 1: This is an equally-weighted 100 question multiple-choice exam offered in the morning session of the exam day. Duration is of 4 hours.
FRM Part 2: This is also an equally weighted 80 question multiple-choice Exam, but offered in the afternoon of the Exam day. Same 4 hours are give to solve the question paper.
There is no negative marking in FRM course and both frm exam will be computer based testing (CBT) from 2021.
However, Last FRM Part 2 exam will be paper & pencil in May 2021.
You can appear for both exams at once. However, if you fail in Part 1 then your Part 2 paper will not be considered. So, it is advised that give paper one by one.
